Getting started

How do I join someone's crew?

Ask your captain for an invite. Open the link they send on your iPhone and Crew Control opens on that race. If the link opens in a browser instead, copy it, open Crew Control and choose Paste my invite link.

Who can change the plan?

The captain owns the plan and the crew list. Everyone on the crew can log pit stops, tick off handovers, raise needs and pack kit. A captain can hand the role to someone else from the crew list.

Can I add stops from the race guide?

Yes. On a race, add stops and choose Import stops, then pick the guide as a PDF or as photos. Crew Control reads out the stations, cutoffs and crew access for you to check before anything is added. Times are read in the time zone where the race is held, and the import screen shows which one it used.

Race day

What if there's no signal?

Everything you log is saved on your phone first, so you can keep going. Changes send to the rest of the crew as soon as you're back in range.

Why does it say "Drive time unknown"?

Drive times need your location. Allow location for Crew Control in the iPhone Settings app, or tap Use my location on the stop. The stop also needs a map location, which the captain can set by editing it.

I'm not getting race alerts

Check that alerts are on in Crew Control's Settings and that notifications are allowed for Crew Control in the iPhone Settings app. Alerts only go out while a race is live.

The race finished. How do I end it?

In Race Control, choose Finish the race and record how it ended. The race moves to its debrief, and you can reopen it if that was a mistake.

Your account

How do I change my name?

Open Settings (the person icon at the top of Home) and tap Edit next to your name. Your crews see the new name straight away.

How do I delete my account?

Open Settings (the person icon at the top of Home) and choose Delete account. You'll need a connection. Races you created that still have crew are handed to another crew member, and everything else is deleted. The privacy policy has the details. If you can't get into the app, email support@crewcontrol.app from the address you signed in with and we'll do it for you.
